Our Mission
To instill the ideals of service in college students while providing them the opportunity for a productive spring break full of fun, friendship, and service-learning.
What We Do
Each year, VCU Alternative Spring Break organizes volunteer trips that send more than one hundred VCU students to various sites around the country, amounting to more than 5,000 community service hours each year that address different issues. In addition to providing community service, participants gain applied educational experience and discover their role as global citizens.
Our Partnership
The Virginia Commonwealth University Alternative Spring Break program is a collaborative effort of the Alternative Spring Break Organizational Board with various non-profit organizations around the country. Together we work to find areas of need outside of the Richmond community and fill the void. VCU's Alternative Spring Break is also nationally affiliated with Breakaway - The Alternative Break Connection. Visit them at www.alternativebreaks.org.
