How do I apply?
To apply, download an application and return to vcuasb@gmail.com by November 18th, 2009.
How will I know if I am accepted for a trip?
You will be notified by email of your applicant status by winter break. Please promptly accept or decline any offer of trip participation by email.
What if I am offered an alternate spot?
If you are offered an alternate position, please keep current with your VCU email, as this is how we will contact you in the event we can offer you a spot on a trip.
How much does it cost to participate in ASB?
Your participant fee for domestic trips is $225. Please also plan for expenses for some meals and personal spending money. Please note: your first payment of $75 is non refundable.
How much does the International trip cost?
The Honduras trip rate will fluctuate with air fares, but we ask that if you apply for the international trip that you set aside $1200. With further questions about cost please contact Nathaniel Gordon and Kayla Diggs (see Site Leaders).
Who will I be traveling with?
Your trip will have ten participants, all VCU students, led by two student site leaders. Your site leaders will contact you after notification of acceptance so that you can begin planning for your trip.
Is there a GPA requirement?
You must have a GPA of 2.25 to travel with VCU ASB.
How will we get to our site?
Most trips travel by van; your site leaders will provide you with specific details.
What other activities are planned?
Specific work varies from site to site; each trip plans one day off during the week for sightseeing and relaxing.
What should I pack?
ASB trips vary in location, climate, and nature of work. Accordingly, your suitcase for each trip will be a little different. Your site leaders will provide you with more information. However, we do ask that you pack light to ease travel. You will be responsible for your own bags. VCU Alternative Spring Break takes no responsibility for your belongings.
